The Dark Forest is Liu Cixin's sequel to his Hugo Award-winning novel The Three Body Problem.
The Dark Forest extends the "Remembrance of Earth's Past" trilogy into the Crisis Era, during which earth prepares to meet the existential threats to human existence unleashed in the first novel. Characters, governments, and factions seek to direct or influence the human response as the threats begin to manifest.
